October is Cancer Awareness
|
|
Great strides have been made in cancer treatments! Patients are more willing to
accept that at least part of the cause of their condition lies in their own
mind. Aware of this information, they can explore and take control of their
health by understanding underlying causes of their illness within the
subconscious mind. Hypnosis is obviously the ideal medium for this exploration.
It can be easily
experienced by most people, helping them to
safely connect to subconscious trigger factors. It is relatively inexpensive
and has only positive results such as: increased calmness and improved self
esteem.
Our diet has a lot to do with cancer. Lots of research studies indicate
that a diet low in animal fats and high in fresh fruits and vegetables is the
best way to prevent cancer.
Many doctors are still apprehensive when it comes to looking into or applying
alternative medicine. As a former breast cancer patient said to me
triumphantly..."I knew I could heal my breasts and not lose them when I started
taking responsibility for my body. I decided that my body and I had made this
disease together and that we could fight and fix it together!"
Hypnosis can do much more as an adjunct to medical treatment. Hypnosis can be
used to direct both the cells of the immune system and the agents of
chemotherapy to go after the cancer with greater strength. One of my successful
clients used hypnosis to instruct her body to aim all the chemo she was taking
directly into the tumor. The doctors were amazed at how quickly her ovarian
cancer responded to the treatment, and how mild her chemo side effects
were.
Hypnosis can also be used to rebuild the immune system, and to counter the
other effects of chemo, like anemia, nausea, hair loss, etc. Hypnosis can also
increase the success and reduce the recovery time from surgery. If you are
facing the challenge of cancer, only your doctors know what medical procedures
are best. However, hypnosis will vastly increase your chances of not just
surviving cancer, but thriving again in a healthy active life. Good
luck in your recovery!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness
|
|
Hypnotherapy
can help with physical and emotional stress is brought on by
domestic violence.
As a
Hypnotherapist, and domestic violence counselor, I know that
even the most ordinary stress can become overwhelming if the
subconscious mind clouds these experiences and tasks with
negative significance based upon childhood or other
traumas.
For
example, the simple and usually pleasurable act of making
love to one's devoted spouse, for most of us a source of
pleasure and relaxation, can be a nightmare of stress to a
survivor of sexual abuse. It is critical to gather from our
clients their descriptions of the most stressful experiences
of their daily lives, so we can go back in hypnotic
regression to the first time they felt these
feelingsand
rescue the client's earlier self from these terrible
memories.
We
use various hypnotic and emotional release therapy to help
the client push these tensions out of their body, through
sounds, movement, and aggressive emotional expression. We
then integrate into the subconscious new memories in
which the client's inner-self is filled with safety, power,
and love. These new memories are accompanied by new beliefs.
"I'll never get over this", is replaced by "I can do
this and feel safe!"
While
many of my clients express skepticism at first about the
possibility of accomplishing something so far-fetched, few
sessions in trance is all they need to feel the enormous
power of the work in their own bodies, in their own beliefs'
and in their lives. If
you know of anyone that may be in an
abusive relationship, please have them contact us.
Their health and safety is our utmost priority - I am
certified and trained to help them through
this.

SuperFoods
Experts say dozens
of easy-to-find 'super foods' can help ward off heart
disease, cancer, cholesterol, and more.
A study reported in The Journal of the American Medical
Association (2008) showed that a diet of soy fiber, protein
from oats and barley, and almonds are the most widely
prescribed cholesterol medicine.
One caveat: If you have a family history of breast cancer it is
not recommended that you eat extra soy.
Yummiest
Super Food ... Dark Chocolate
New research has shown that dark chocolate is packed with
antioxidants and can lower blood pressure. It is recommended
that you look for chocolate with 60% or higher cocoa content;
the darker, the better. In addition, the darker it is, the
lower the fat and sugar content. Now that's our
kind of health food!
And
the best for the
Holidays...Pumpkin!
Pumpkins, and their seeds, were a celebrated food of the Native
American Indians who treasured them both for their dietary and
medicinal properties. The cultivation of pumpkins spread
throughout the world when the European explorers, returning
from their journeys, brought back many of the agricultural
treasures of the New
World.
Pumpkin seeds have recently become more popular as research
suggests that they have unique nutritional and health
benefits.Though fresh pumpkin is available only in the fall and
winter, canned products are just as healthful. "A serving of
pumpkin [1 cup] has nearly 3
grams of fiber, and is packed with beta carotene" an
antioxidant that can help improve immune function and reduce
the risk for cancer and heart disease.
Pumpkin
seeds
Pumpkin seeds, also known as pepitas, are small, flat, green,
edible seeds. Most pumpkin seeds are covered by a white husk,
although some pumpkin varieties produce seeds without them.
Pumpkin seeds are a popular snack that can be found hulled or
semi-hulled at most grocery stores. Pumpkin seeds have many
health benefits, some of which include a good source of
protein, zinc, and other vitamins, and are even said to lower
cholesterol. One gram of pumpkin seed protein contains as much
tryptophan as a full glass of milk. Pumpkin seeds are a good
source of magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, and
phytosterols.
Pumpkin
seeds also provide many health
benefits.
*
Prostate
Protection- They promote overall prostate health and alleviate
the difficult urination associated with an enlarged prostate
and improve Bladder Function.
*
Depression Treatment- They contain L-tryptophan, a compound
naturally effective against depression.
*
Prevention of Osteoporosis- Because they are high in zinc,
pumpkin seeds are a natural protector against
osteoporosis. Low intake of zinc is linked to higher rates of
osteoporosis.
*
Natural Anti-Inflammatory- Pumpkin seeds effectively reduce
inflammation without the side effects of anti-inflammatory
drugs.
*
Prevention of Kidney Stones- They prevent calcium oxalate
kidney stone formation, according to studies.

May 2009
Life is change. Just as the seasons evolve, so do the seasons of our lives. Relationships come and go, opportunities flourish
and fade, and with every fresh transition, we learn to hum a new tune and flow with the
change that life delivers.
Wellness at Heal
Within
Change can bring newness and excitement, yet it can also bring challenge and
turmoil. The insecurity of not knowing the future can create stress and anxiety in our lives.
Even "good change," such as getting married, moving to a new house, or having a baby, can
cause stress.
Evolve your mindset by looking forward instead of dwelling on the problem at
hand. Let go of your need to control every aspect of the situation or to know the exact
reason why things happen the way the do. "I don't know" is an empowering statement.
Releasing the burden of "knowing" and surrendering to "not knowing" can clear the path for
the real answers to surface.
For example, if you are an expectant mother you have a choice. You can spend
your energy worrying about whether the baby will come out healthy, or you can take
productive steps to secure a healthy future for your baby. Instead of getting bogged down
by the miracles of life, be amazed in wonder by them. Take a moment to step back and look
at the bigger, brighter picture. What once appeared as an over-shadowing problem will
become minuscule and manageable.
Choose natural means to direct your mind and begin living the life you
choose. You can overcome feelings of anger, grief and depression and clear the way
for acceptance and renewal to fill your life with joy and contentment. Through
hypnosis and working with your unconscious mind, we can and will help you take
control over your worries and anxieties about the future. Take steps to embrace the
change that life brings. If and when you question "why is this happening to me?",
take a moment and ponder upon this: When things happen, they are not necessarily
happening "to you"...but sometimes they are happening "for you".

Healthy Tips
Follow these simple steps to total health & wellness
Boost your Immune System Naturally...
When a pandemic illness like the swine flu occurs, the hype that spreads
along with the disease can be magnified by our own panic and fear. This fear turns into a
cycle of panic and anxiety when dumped onto someone else (you call your kids or your
friends to tell them to look out for signs of swine flu). Though the efforts to spread awareness may be well-intentioned, the cycle of
panic and anxiety is what keeps us in distress, which then weakens our body's immune
system and makes us even more susceptible to illness.
Here are some simple steps you can follow to boost
immunity.
-
Wash your hands often.
-
Stock up on Vitamin C with vitamin supplements and foods high in
Vitamin C such as broccoli, parsely, citrus fruits, strawberries, melon, guava,
kiwifruit, and rose hip tea. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and is essential
to many of the body's maintenance activities including building collagen,
antibodies, white blood cells, and neurotransmitters.
-
Consume foods high in the amino acid Lysine such as lentils,
soybeans, black beans, green beans, navy beans, black caraway, black cumin, and
spinach. Lysine helps prevent the spread of virus and bacteria in the
body.
-
Drink 6-8 cups of non-caffeinated liquids per day including water,
juice, herbal tea, milk, soymilk. Try squeezing a few drops of lemon or lime juice
into your water or favorite tea.
-
Gradually decrease or eliminate refined cane sugar from your diet.
Eliminating cane sugar has great benefits for mental clarity, weight distribution,
and boosting the immune system. Forgo the pastries in the morning and try an
all-natural alternative sweetner such as agave nectar or stevia.
-
Take a good vitamin supplement to maintain the body's immunity to
viral infections. Anti-viral nutrients can also be found in ginger, garlic,
cinnamon, turmeric, oregano, green tea extract, and soy protein.
-
Get a full night's sleep, at least 6-10 hours a night.
Share these tips with your friends and family to protect against the
spread of viral infections and create a happier, healthier environment around
You!

Spring 2009
Spring is here! A time of celebration and renewal, and we at Heal Within wish to thank you for sharing and celebrating with
us. We are honored to have you. Your Vision is Our Mission.
Spring Wellness at Heal
Within
Stop hay fever and asthma
the alternative way! Spring is time for blossoms. Everything is in full
bloom...so are allergies and asthma. Did you know, in the U.S., an estimated 43 million
people suffer from allergies and nine million of them
suffer from asthma? Some may even call this an epidemic.
Allergies can develop at any age, even during infancy from mild sneezes to
severe allergy attacks. No age group, race or sex is immune. It is an excess sensitivity
to substances, such as pollen, food, drugs, heat, or cold, and its reactions are hay fever,
hives, and bronchial asthma. Allergy can occur at any time, get worse or fade away with
environmental or social changes.
Do you or someone you know suffer from allergies? Have you not suffered
enough? Are you willing and ready to take command of your body? Would you not like to go
places without sneezing, coughing or going into convulsive attacks. No worries, help is
here.
Choose the alternative way sans medication to direct your mind. Say goodbye
to allergies. How you ask? Good question. Through hypnosis and working with your
unconscious mind, we can and will help you take control to overcome your allergy symptoms
and reactions. Take steps to breath better and easier, go places you want and ease your
allergy attacks this season, if not all
together.
Let us help you. Call us to schedule your appointment to begin living a
healthier and happier life.

Healthy Tips
Follow these simple steps to total health
& wellness
-
A sliced Carrot looks like the
human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human
eye, and science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and
function of the eyes.
-
A Tomato has
four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. Research
shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood
food.
-
Grapes hang in a cluster that
has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and research
today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing
food.
-
A Walnut looks like a little
brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even
the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know
walnuts help develop more than three dozen neuron-transmitters for brain
function.
-
Kidney Beans actually heal and
help maintain kidney function and they look exactly like the human
kidneys.
-
Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and
many more stalk veggies look just like bones. These foods specifically target
bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you
don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, making
them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal system.
-
Avocados, Eggplants and Pears
target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female, and they
look like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one
avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents
cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine months to
grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit.
-
Figs are full of seeds and
hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and
increase the numbers of sperm as well to overcome male
sterility.
-
Sweet Potatoes look like the
pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of
diabetics.
-
Olives are tasty and they
assist the health and function of the ovaries.
-
Oranges, Grapefruits, and
other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and
actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out
of the breasts.
-
Onions look like the body's
cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the
body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the
eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and
dangerous free radicals from the body.
