Post Election Feelings - Do You Know?

One of my clients suggested I share how hypnotherapy helped her with anger and anxiety issues over the elections. True story: Got a call Wednesday afternoon asking for an appointment for her 26 year old daughter. Apparently after seeing the election results this quiet and soft spoken young woman went into such a rage that in the moment of heat and her rage flaring up, she broke the coffee table glass during an argument with her step dad. Not only she hurt her wrist real bad, she had the cat flying in fear and the argument escalated to a point that her parents were ready to call the cops. On our first session she revealed the unfairness of what happened, how her hopes were shattered and the one thing she believed in, was no longer true. When I first asked her what caused such a reaction - she said "I do not know - it just happened." Sometime later, she said - "It was unjust and unfair". At the end of our initial hypnosis session she came to a better understanding of her feelings. What she had not voiced yet she felt was "who really cares what woman think, it's all about greed and power of what a man wants." Wast this true? It was only after tapping within and peeling away some of her feelings on the surface, that her own deep routed anger towards most men in power (such as her father) came to light. Not only that, she started talking about what her mother had endured for over 17 years during her first marriage, plus her own experiences with two boyfriends and one boss - and there lay her anger. The original reason for wanting a woman president was never about Hillary, but what it would represent for her and other women. Well, we all have different perspectives of what we think is true and why we behave in accordance to our truth. In fact someone watching the same thing feels differently and reacts differently. Why? Because of the trigger. How it triggers what you think, feel and hear is about your past story and what you feel within. Its never about them. Sit back for a moment and ask yourself - Is what I am feeling now really true? Is what I feel really for (her - him) or for me? How is this feeling helping me? How is this to change my perspective in Who am I? What am I? What I feel? Have you really given up and given your power to the unknown? Do you in all absolute truth know what is to happen next? Do you in absolute truth know what would have happened if the results were different? There is no way you could predict the future for someone else. Allow me to shed a light. The only one we can control and have power over, to vote, to act and to react is over our selves. Our perceptions are not the truth, and our truth is not always fact. The sad part in all this is that we, the people, are having such a hard time coming to acceptance and letting go of what is now reality. Just like any game, both sides train for months if not years only to get to the finals or the Olympics with the mindset to win. One team wins and the other accepts defeat and moves on till the next meet. Negative energy and harshness does no one good. It destroys your own peace and nerves, your blood pressure goes up, your muscles tense up, and in turn you create duress onto your loved ones. There are more important things in life to be busy with - such as your own joy and wellness, friends and family. The more you delve in the negativity and blame, the more you'll exude disease and stay with negative energy. Let's take our power back as we move forward. Lets be more loving towards one another.
